Valmec Women In Engineering Scholarship 2021

As part of our commitment to cultivating a future that is inclusive and gender-equal, Valmec has partnered with The University of Queensland (UQ), to establish the ‘Valmec Women in Engineering Scholarship’, which was available to prospective students earlier this year.

The purpose of the scholarship is to encourage and support meritorious undergrad female students studying mechanical, or civil engineering at UQ.

Valmec is pleased to announce Leanne Petty as the first recipient of the Valmec Women in Engineering Scholarship.

Additionally, Valmec has offered Leanne work experience at our Brisbane office for the duration of the scholarship. We look forward to her joining our team and supporting her through mentorship and development opportunities in the engineering space.

Getting to work with, and learn from such a technologically diverse and innovative company will allow me to grow both professionally and personally, whilst gaining a wealth of experience through collaborating with a wide network of industry professionals. The financial aspect of this scholarship will also help me in my goal of learning and experiencing as much as possible, as I aim to travel to Europe in order to learn more about the latest in energy innovation and technology.”
