Baldivis Booster Pump Station - Makin Road

Background
The water booster pumping station required the Contractor to build a brick veneer steel framed building with colorbond roof and fitout with all mechanical pumping equipment, electrical and pumps. The Contract also required the construction of water reticulation mains to the pump house and ancillary site works such as roadway, fencing, stormwater drainage and erosion control rock pitching.

Challenges
All the brownfields construction works had to be completed under very strict timeframes so that commissioning could take place and new lots could receive titles. The restricted site made working on multiple work fronts challenging. Very precise planning was required to co-ordinate multiple trades.
Advantages
Valmec provided strong leadership during the project and as a result were able to complete the tasks with the technical knowledge to eliminate interface gaps. The project was well suited to the organisation in that Valmec was able to self-perform a wide range of the work with only specialist functions being outsourced or subcontracted.
