Background
Having completed stage 2 of the works, VALMEC tendered and won the work to complete the next stage of the subdivision. This was a fully serviced subdivision involving demolition and earthworks (including substantial imported fill), retaining walls and fencing, underground services, road works and electrical reticulation.

Challenges
Dust managed to be the major challenge with an action hot line being set up to manage interaction between the adjacent neighbours and a VALMEC response team. Additional water carts were active on the site for the duration of the works. VALMEC maintained a presence long after the completion of the works to ensure that hydro mulching was effective.
Advantages
This project was won with the combination of competitive pricing and depth of experience. The client had first-hand experience of VALMEC’s performance on an earlier stage making the choice to use the same contractor easier.
