Turee Creek Compressor Station - E&I Construction
Newman, Western Australia
Background
Valmec was awarded the Electrical & Instrumentation installation contract for the Turee Creek Compressor Station (TCS) project. TCS was a new facility built as part of the larger GGP Expansion project. The project scope included the E&I installation of two Centaur C50 gas compression packages, station control room, GEA’s, fuel and valve skids, workshop facilities and brownfields tie-in to the existing Goldfields Gas Pipeline. Valmec also provided temporary camp facilities for the construction and commissioning phases.
Client
APA Group
Challenges
Located approximately 2 hours west of Newman, Western Australia, construction of the facility was undertaken in extreme temperatures through the cyclone season.
Advantages
Valmec’s construction methodology involved partial fit-out of the station control room and the pre-wiring of skid packages within our Perth workshop to minimize site time and accelerate progress against the required schedule of works, reducing project risk.
